Mental and Emotional abuse.
What is it? Unlike Physical abuse, it leaves no outward physical signs that it has happened.
There are no bruises, cuts, or scrapes for people to gawk at.
No broken bones to be set and held in a cast, no hospital records for
“I tripped and fell down the stairs” and yet, it is very real and just as damaging.
My name is not important, my story is.
I was in a relationship for nine years, seven of which I was married to someone who
by the end, had managed to almost fully destroy me mentally and emotionally.
In weekly blogs, I will tell my side of the story. This is not for pity, this is to bring to light
the danger of mental abuse.
The silent struggle a person can go through, unable to talk to anyone, as they don't realize
it's happening.
I got out thanks to a friend who saw the signs, asked the right questions, and then helped
me to open my eyes to see that this was not normal.
My life has now been turned around, but the scars will always be there.
Let me share my side, maybe it will help you too.
